Country music foremost pillar Ray Price has died in his home today after a bout with pancreatic cancer. He was 87. Price shot to fame with Number One hits like "City Lights". earlier this month, he told Rolling Stone Magazine that "I just like what I've done and how it's worked out, and it's been great. I haven't lost my voice, thank God for that." Until his twilight years, many of his colleagues are surprised by his lasting star power, packing in venues one after the other. Merle Haggard, who toured with Price and Willie Nelson in 2007 said: "I told Willie when it was over, 'That old man gave us a goddamn singing lesson.' He really did. He just sang so good. He sat there with the mic against his chest. And me and Willie are all over the microphone trying to find it, and he found it."
